Bio

Prof. Sérgio F. Salvador, born in Maputo, graduated in medicine from Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Mozambique in 2007. In 2015, he completed his neurosurgery training at São João Hospital in Porto and, in the same year, obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Porto, Portugal. In 2017, he completed his Fellowship at COSECSA. He was a professor of neurology, neurosurgery, and clinical anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal. He served as coordinator of the general medicine course at ISCTEM (2020-2023) and as a member of the WFNS Young Neurosurgeons Award Committee (2018-2022), and as President of the Accreditation Council and the Specialties Council of the Order of Physicians of Mozambique (2019-2025).

Currently, in addition to his clinical work as a neurosurgeon, he is the clinical director of Lenmed Hospital of Maputo, the National Representative of Mozambique on the COSECSA Board, and a member of the Examinations and Credentials Committee, as well as the Education and Training Committee of the WFNS. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the ISCTEM School of Medicine.
